Inquiry, not instruction
Lessons are built around questions rather than answers, so students arrive at interpretation themselves.
Meet Your Mentor
An experienced academic leader in international English education — and the teacher who sits with your child through every essay, every draft, every idea.
The Founder
Shabnam Khan is Head of the English Department (IBDP) at a leading international school, where she teaches Diploma Programme students in Grades 11 and 12.
Over the past fifteen years, she has helped students build the analytical thinking, communication skills and academic confidence needed to excel in some of the world’s most demanding English programmes. Her approach combines rigorous academic standards with individual attention, helping every student develop not only stronger grades, but also a genuine appreciation for language and literature.
The Elite Hub was founded in 2010 from a simple belief: every student deserves the kind of personalised guidance that is difficult to achieve in a traditional classroom. That philosophy continues to shape every lesson, every programme and every student journey.
Teaching Philosophy
They are taught how to read, how to question, and how to defend an idea that is genuinely their own.
Lessons are built around questions rather than answers, so students arrive at interpretation themselves.
Texts are read in their contexts, encouraging the reflective, internationally-minded thinking the IB Learner Profile describes.
Comments on a student’s writing are specific, personal and actionable — the point at which most progress is made.

In Her Own Words
Awaiting Shabnam’s words. This section is reserved for a personal quote and a short reflection on why she teaches. We have deliberately not drafted these on her behalf — a quote attributed to a real person should be her own.
Send the quote and this section renders exactly as designed; the surrounding layout is final.
Why Students Learn Differently at The Elite Hub
Your child is not passed between tutors. Every session is led by Shabnam herself — which is why the mentoring compounds.
Designing assessments to IB and Cambridge rubrics daily means students are taught what those rubrics actually reward.
Mentoring one student at a time means the plan is built around their thinking, not a fixed syllabus.
From a first uncertain draft to a final submission — the same mentor, throughout.
